"I wouldn't buy that package if I were you" warned Dan. Dan has been my friend since high school but most of the time I was the outgoing one. All along Dan has been this shy, very bright geek who thrived on contraptions, gadgets, and the computer. This guy was a hacker per excellence and could generate keys for any program. He was also the worst coward the world has ever had.
Dan had all sorts of conspiracy theories relating to technology and stuff. He never did crack any system codes although he could do it whenever he wanted. I sometimes think his too many rules restricted him to venture into new territories.
Anyway my nerdy friend and I had been discussing this new technology of watching TV on a pc. I had come to him beaming with glee that I had found an internet TV service that I could virtually watch TV from all over the world. As I narrated my discovery to him, he gave me this contemptuous-you-belong-to-the ice-age-look.
I asked him why he didn't look any surprised and he casually said. "Welcome to the 21st century, this technology came out six months ago". I hate it when he gives me that sympathetic I'm-sorry-its-not-your-fault look. I always thought he was the one who needed that look with his skinny, unkempt, thick-framed-glasses and funny head. Not me. The fact was that this guy is miles ahead of me in intelligence and often pitied my ignorance of ...well, almost about everything there is to be learnt.
Anyway, Dan took one look at the software being offered online and frowned at me with a look like he had just seen a dinosaur from the Jurassic era. This is when he told me the whole shebang about free live TV software. And boy, did I learn a lot?
Firstly he said that two thirds of all those hundreds of softwares found online are fake. Only afew of them had been time tested and proved to be reliable, had good quality pictures and sound and were cheaper. Next we sat down for an hour and actually downloaded several of them. Every online TV streaming software we tried could not work or had crappy TV stations which I don't believe anybody wastes their time watching.
It was unbelievable how easily you can loose your shirt online if you depended on the flashy websites marketing fake online TV live software.
Next we did a run a few of the good ones. When I say few, I mean less than 3 legit online web softwares with American and Spanish online channels. I specifically liked one of the 3 streaming TV software more as it had over 3000 channels and mostly from North America. The software was from a company called Satellite to PC and their package PC 2007 Elite edition.
The software that even the skeptic Dan liked also came at only a cost of $49.95 for a life time membership. This included free annual upgrades and over 1000 online radio streams. We downloaded a copy of this software and it only took us 3 minutes from download to watching online TV.
I have since been watching free online TV soccer and able to get free American internet TV access channels.
